Make the workflow visible
Before selecting software, look at how work actually happens. Who enters which data? Where is information passed on? Which exceptions occur? A simple sketch can provide more clarity than a long feature list.
Prioritise requirements
Not every desired feature is essential for a first step. Separate mandatory requirements from helpful additions and later ideas. Consider privacy, access rights and interfaces from the outset.
Test on a manageable scale
A pilot with a small user group reveals unanswered questions. Test actual workflows without unnecessary operational risk. Plan a fallback and a clear decision about the next phase.
Handover is part of implementation
Documentation, responsibilities and training belong in the project scope. Technical installation alone does not ensure reliable everyday use.
