Find the critical assumption
A product idea often contains assumptions about the problem, the audience and how people will use it. Write these down separately. Which one would most challenge the idea if it proved wrong?
Choose a suitable test
A minimum viable product is not simply a small complete product. Its purpose is to test a relevant assumption. A clickable prototype, structured test or manually supported service may be enough.
Limit the technical scope
Derive features from the test objective. What must work to answer the question? What can remain manual? Document technical dependencies and how test data will be handled.
Prepare a decision
Before testing, agree which observations would lead to which next steps. This turns a prototype into a basis for further product decisions.
